About Uganda

Uganda, often called the “Pearl of Africa,” boasts a wealth of natural beauty and diverse wildlife. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its gorilla trekking experiences, offering close encounters with mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, part of this park, is an ancient, dense forest that provides a sanctuary for many species of birds, butterflies, and mammals, making it a biodiversity hotspot.

Murchison Falls National Park, the largest in Uganda, is famous for the dramatic Murchison Falls and provides excellent opportunities for spotting the Big Five: lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, and rhinos. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, located in the Virunga Mountains, is not only known for gorilla trekking but also for its golden monkeys and volcanic landscapes, offering challenging hikes and scenic views.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is a diverse ecosystem known for its tree-climbing lions and the Kazinga Channel, which is abundant with hippos and crocodiles. Kibale National Park is a primate haven, home to 13 species including chimpanzees, offering thrilling tracking experiences. The Rwenzori Mountains National Park, known as the “Mountains of the Moon,” features snow-capped peaks and challenging hikes, including the ascent of Margherita Peak, Uganda’s highest point. Lake Bunyonyi, one of Africa’s deepest lakes, provides serene opportunities for canoeing, swimming, and hiking.

Semuliki National Park offers a unique experience with its hot springs, diverse wildlife, and rich birdlife, making it a bird watcher’s paradise. The park’s rich forest environment also hosts the Batwa pygmies, one of the oldest indigenous tribes in Africa. Kidepo Valley National Park is one of Africa’s most isolated national parks, known for its rugged savannah, large herds of buffalo, and unique Karamojong culture. It offers a true wilderness experience with stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife.

Lake Mburo National Park is a compact gem known for its rich biodiversity, offering game drives, boat trips, and horseback safaris. It is home to various species, including zebras, elands, and impalas. Mount Elgon National Park features the extinct volcano Mount Elgon, providing challenging hikes, waterfalls, and the largest caldera in Africa. The park is also known for its unique caves and diverse flora and fauna.

Jinja, known as East Africa’s adventure capital, is the source of the Nile River and offers activities such as white-water rafting, bungee jumping, and kayaking. Kampala, Uganda’s bustling capital, blends modern and traditional elements, with vibrant markets, historical sites like the Kasubi Tombs, and a lively nightlife. The Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary offers a unique chance to see reintroduced white rhinos up close on guided walks.

The Ssese Islands, located in Lake Victoria, offer a tranquil escape with pristine beaches and lush forests. These islands are perfect for relaxation, fishing, and water sports. With its captivating landscapes, rich wildlife, and warm hospitality, Uganda is a top destination for travelers seeking both adventure and cultural immersion.

Our Travelers Testimonials

The Best in East Africa

We were a group of about 25 people. This was a bucket list trip for us (husband and myself) and Travel Wild did not disappoint. Fabulous from the minute we landed. Everything was perfect. Excellent communication, timing, helpfulness. Beautiful accommodations, friendly helpful people. We stayed busy, but were also offered down time. Travel Wild was patient with my many many email questions and provided prompt replies. It would be a dream to book with them again.

Totally Recommend Travel Wild!

We had travelled with a group of 40 with Travel Wild. Dan was our guide for the 5 day trip which was starting from the Nairobi Airport-Naivasha-Masai Mara Safari and back to Airport. The stay were perfect and Travel Wild was on standby for any/all requirements that we have. We would 100% recommend them and especially travel with Dan as there is never a dull moment while travelling with him.

A Massive Thank-You From A Return Customer!

Having used Travel Wild a few years ago, I was longing to come back to East Africa to explore the region a bit further. One cannot imagine a trip to Kenya or Tanzania without going on safari, however I was wary of taking young children (5 & 7 years old) on such a tour. Travel Wild carefully planned our itinerary taking into account our wishes and specifics of the group which did take some time, therefore thanks a lot for your patience!

Incredible Trip To Kilimanjaro & Mt. Kenya!

My friends and I joined Travel Wild Tours on an 8 day trip to Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and a 5 day trip to Mt Kenya National Park in Kenya. Although the company is based in Kenya, they subcontracted another professional company called Enjoy Kili to lead us on the Kilimanjaro trek in Tanzania. It was a well put together trip with great service. I definitely recommend this company and their Mt Kenya trip!

Amazing, Memorable Tailor-Made Safari Holiday!

Travel Wild (based in Nairobi, Kenya) organised a fully bespoke holiday from us (we are based in London, England) incorporating 5 different destinations across Kenya and full action packed itineraries at each destination, including transport between the locations, guides, domestic flights, and sound advice throughout. We felt thoroughly catered for and in safe hands. The team is always on email and on the phone and we had no qualms. Would recommend using Travel Wild directly from abroad. A holiday of a life time that we won't forget. Thank you to the team.

If there was a 10 star rating they would get it!
